Carp fishing | Sturgeon fishing
Carp are a widespread freshwater fish, originally from Asia, but these large fish can now be found almost all over the world due to stocking. They can measure up to 1.2 meters and can weigh up to 40 kg - so it's safe to say that you need some big gear to catch carp.

Choose the right tackle for sturgeon and carp
Fishing rods for fishing for carp and sturgeon
Of course, you decide for yourself which fishing equipment you use for sturgeon or carp fishing. However, it is a good idea to follow the recommendations of the lakes. A fishing rod of about 10-14 feet and 2.75 lbs is a good start - especially for the larger lakes. Remember that the lighter your fishing rod is, the longer it takes to land the fish. Since it will fight, it is not the best for the fish. Depending on your budget and level of experience, fishing rods for sturgeon can be found from a few hundred kroner to several thousand kroner.
The perfect fishing reel for carp and sturgeon
When you need to handle fish with a lot of weight, you need a powerful spinning reel or baitrunner reel . The function of a baitrunner reel is that it is fitted with a button that can turn off the drag, which allows the fish to take the line without feeling resistance. When you want to set the hook, you turn on the drag and then start fighting the fish.
The fishing line
When you look around you on your fishing trip, you will see that most anglers use a nylon line with a thickness of at least 0.30 mm. This is also the one we recommend. However, there are several options. A braided line with a thickness of 0.20-0.25 for example. Check carefully whether the particular lake you want to fish in allows a braided line, as this is not always the case.
Unhooking mats & weighing slings
When you land your carp or sturgeon, make sure it lands softly. You must respect the fish you catch, and they should not be unnecessarily injured or stressed. Depending on how big a fish you catch, there are mats for unhooking in sizes up to 180 cm. There are also mats that can function as a weighing sling - these are very gentle on the fish. We recommend a large mat of at least 125 cm for sturgeon and carp, so that you can also take a nice picture of yourself and your fish without having to worry about damaging the fish.
Pop-up boilies are the new bait
If you prefer to catch your fish the traditional way - i.e. with corn, bread, worms, etc., you can also find it in this category. Are you the angler who wants to try new methods or the dedicated fisherman who wants to update your equipment to the most modern, we also have boilies that are used as bait. And although these dough balls can be made at home, we have a large selection of pop-up boilies that can be used immediately - easily and quickly. The good thing about boilies is that they are not so easily eaten by the small fish, and thus you increase your chances of catching what you want most! Try them on your next fishing trip. They come in different flavors, sizes, shapes and colors and can be purchased in small and large tubs.
