Guide to choosing coastal flies
If you are choosing flies for fishing on the coast, there are countless coastal flies to choose from. At Fluer.dk we would like to help you choose the right flies for fishing on the coast. The choice of flies depends, among other things, on the season in which you will be fishing. In the cold coastal waters, coastal flies in bright colors such as pink, red, yellow and many other bright or fluorescent colors are primarily used. The cold coastal time is from mid-November to April approximately. depending on the winter.
After the colored shore flies it is time to fish with imitations of bristle worms, which are long shore flies in brownish colors. When the bristle worms swarm in the water it is important to find the shore flies that look the best, here there are many shore flies to choose from both tied on one hook but also tied on 2 hooks in a row. Sea trout love bristle worms and eat them in raw quantities, but remember that one of them will probably eat your shore fly that looks like it.

After the time with bristle worms, the more subdued and natural shore flies come into play, flies that resemble small fish and shrimp. These subdued natural shore flies can be used at all times of the day, however, very dark or completely black shore flies are recommended for late evening and night fishing.
Mimic flies from nature
When you fish in cold water with a pink coastal fly, it doesn't look like anything from the coast, but that's what it's supposed to be throughout the summer and early fall. Coastal flies that look like gobies, these small fish are easy to imitate with different coastal flies, tie them yourself or buy them here at the shop. Gobies like this one in the picture below are easy to find.

Shrimp
Shrimp are also a major food item for sea trout, these are tied as shore flies in abundance and in all sizes and colors. A shore fly that resembles a shrimp is fished on or very close to the bottom, as this is where shrimp are always found. Fish your shore fly imitation in jerks as a shrimp does not swim but jumps from place to place. When you are standing on the shore and cannot find the right shore fly, choose a shrimp.
