Choose the right ones
Finding the right ones can be a challenge, and not all models are suitable for all fishing situations. If you often fish in many different places and all year round, you will need more than one pair to be ideally equipped. Maybe even more waders. Finally, taste and comfort also play a role when choosing the right waders.
They are quickly becoming an indispensable part of the angler's equipment. They enable you to get so close to the fish that you are within casting distance. The breathable models are a must for the hot summer months.
Firm boots or loose shoes?
Most modern waders are of the sock model, which requires separate shoes. But which is actually better of the two alternatives? Here you need to make it clear what is important to you. Should they be easy to put on and take off? Should they be warm? Should they be comfortable to walk in?
Models with fixed boots are easy to take on and off. This means that on hot summer days you can easily take them off and steam off a bit. The fixed boot also retains heat better. This is simply because you limit the blood supply to the feet when you wear laced shoes. However, the separate shoes are a clear advantage if you have to walk a lot. The separate boots support the foot and ankle much better than the fixed boots. The separate boots also provide better grip on the bottom, which can be a great advantage if wading on difficult ground.

The right size
It is of utmost importance that your waders fit well and fit your body. The inseam length is important to pay attention to when buying new ones. It ensures that you have full mobility while fishing. If you stand in front of the mirror and think that they are tight to your body, they are definitely too small. This is especially true of breathable models where the material is not as elastic as is the case with neoprene, for example. In both cases, it is important to choose your waders large enough - even with full clothing underneath. You can test whether yours are large enough by being able to squat or kneel without difficulty. It is important that you choose them large enough, especially the breathable models - which are probably larger than you think. Not only do you lose freedom of movement if they are too small, you also put more strain on the seams and welds, which increases the risk of them leaking.
