What is a good fishing rod for pier fishing?
As is often the case, everything is more fun when the equipment is in order. A fishing rod for pier fishing can be exposed to many different weight classes of fish. Therefore, always choose a strong fishing rod.
1. A powerful fishing rod should be understood here as one that has a casting weight of at least 20g but preferably up to around 50g.
2. In addition to a good casting weight, a fishing rod for pier fishing should also ideally be able to withstand the weight of the sinker and fish.
In our pier set, we have chosen quality components from Kinetic, Daiwa and other favorites. With the right quality carbon fiber, the fishing rods can last a long time. Contact us if you would like to combine other rods and reels.
Pier fishing for beginners
Pier fishing is a pleasant way to fish that is easy to get to. In Denmark, it is often possible to find a pier relatively close by. You can therefore fish at your leisure, without having to book a time for put and take, or having to find a boat that can take you out to a fishing spot.
The easy access from Put and Take, combines in pier fishing with the selection of saltwater fish from, among others, coastal fishing. You can catch fish such as flatfish, cod, herring, mackerel and pollock. All in all, it is a popular way to fish, where you can easily bring the whole family.
The great thing about pier fishing is that the conditions for the fish are ideal. There will often be vegetation that attracts small fish, and with the small fish come predatory fish. The entire ecosystem is therefore perfect for fishing.
Tip: Although you can fish at any time, high tide is often a really good time to fish. At high tide there is less current, which will make the fish more active in terms of catching prey, or your bait.
Remember your bait!
Remember to order bait when you have chosen your pier set. In our range you will find, among other things, forerunners for cod and forerunners for mackerel .
Our baits are top quality and they are really good at luring the fish to bite. For example, if you use flashes and jigs, the cod can be lured by the built-in vibration in the bait as the bait moves through the water.
