Find your new mackerel lure
Why are there so many different types of lures for mackerel fishing? Basically, it depends on demand and the individual angler's belief that different colors and sizes create different results. What doesn't work for one person could potentially be the ultimate set-up for the next. Likewise, the light of the day, the location and much more can have a big impact. Especially for the experienced mackerel fisherman. That's why there are so many options, types, colors and sizes when it comes to mackerel lures.
At times, the fast mackerel fish can be so aggressive that they eat everything that moves in the water. Other days, only the smallest hooks work. We will not interfere with what you believe works. We simply offer a wide selection, so you can experiment and buy exactly what suits you. Do you need advice or answers to questions about mackerel bait, fishing or anything else? Of course, we are at your disposal.
Variation in mackerel bait may be the way forward
The effectiveness of individual mackerel lures can vary widely from day to day. What works best one day may potentially be less effective the next. That is why we always recommend that you continually expand your collection of mackerel lures. It is precisely the variation and your ongoing collection that you may miss in a nice tackle box .
The number of hooks can also vary widely on mackerel lures. There are mackerel lures with 2 hooks, but also lures with up to 8 hooks. However, more hooks is not always the best solution, as sometimes there can be so many mackerel, which are also so strong, that this can make fishing difficult.
Too many heavy mackerel can make it difficult to pull the fish in and can also cause tangles in the lead. In the worst cases, it can actually cost you your rod. Be especially aware of this if you are fishing on a pier or harbor, as there is no fishing rod designed to lift fish. This is where the rod can break, which is not covered by the warranty.
The line can have different thicknesses on the main line as well as the small hooks with hooks on them. This is because you can use your leader in connection with different types of fishing. If you have a light jig on in the fjord and are hoping for a sea trout that looks past your jig, the mackerel leader you have above should not be too big and clumsy. On the other hand, if you are fishing at sea for small cod or pollack, your mackerel leader should be stronger so that it can withstand a greater pull from the cod.
Mackerel fishing - How to catch the fast fish!
Mackerel are caught in the summer, where they often appear in huge shoals around the Danish sea. The months of July and August in particular have a reputation for being formidable when it comes to mackerel fishing.
Mackerel often hunt for their food in the early morning hours or very late in the day, which is why these times are preferable when it comes to this type of fishing.
Especially in the surf, it will be obvious to fish for mackerel.
For some unknown reasons, mackerel will go for colors like yellow, orange or pink on some days. Here it is an advantage to have several different mackerel lures to try out while fishing. Also consider bringing a cooler or similar, as the fatty fish spoils quickly - especially in the summer on a nice, hot day.
