Warheads
A shooting head (SH) is essentially a further development of the WF line. It consists of a head connected to a thin running line.
A shooting head is of great importance for your success with fly fishing. The shooting head must be adapted to the length of the rod and the casting weight. It is important for your casting experience that you have the right setup that suits you.
Shooting heads can have different lengths, thicknesses and weights. If you are in doubt, you are always welcome to contact our competent staff, who can guide you through the jungle of different running lines, shooting heads and leads.
The shooting head system consists of two lines - a shooting line and a shooting head. These two lines are connected by a loop to loop system. The shooting line must be thin to minimize resistance in the rod eyes during the cast. These shooting lines can be made of different materials, ranging from a structure similar to that of a regular fly line to a monofilament line.
The shooting head system is becoming increasingly popular among coastal fishermen, as this system allows for a longer cast.
The shooting head can have many different shapes and therefore have just as many different properties. The most common 'standard shooting head' is good for overhand casting. Find the shooting head that suits you and your rod here.
