WF fly line (weight forward)
WF or weight forward fly line is called klumplinen in Danish and is probably the most used line in Denmark. WF line is called a klumpline because the line is thickest at one end, typically the front third. It is at this end of the WF fly line that the casting weight is located, which is why it is also called the casting lump. The remaining part of the weight forward line is shooting line, which is thinner to make it easier to shoot out through the eyes.
Where the WF fly line has its clear advantage is in the cast. It gives better control over the line during the cast and can be used more all-round than, for example, DT and ST lines.
WF fly lines are available in different densities. The density indicates the line's ability to sink and is divided into floating, intermediate and sinking.
When you are going to invest in new fly line, it is important to remember that the line, together with the rod, is the real workhorse of fishing, and therefore you should not skimp here. Price and quality often go hand in hand here.
