Description

The Whiting Silver Spey Hackle Saddle offers fly tiers a premium feather option to create dynamic Spey and Dee flies, known for their swept-back profiles and fluid movement in fast water.

  • Originally, "Spey Cock" feathers from Spey River Valley roosters in Scotland were used to craft these flies, but their scarcity led to innovative substitutes.
  • With protection of heron species, this "genetic" Spey Hackle was developed over five years to replicate the superior qualities of traditional feathers.
  • Key feather traits include long, substantial barbs without webbing, durability, and density providing excellent value.
  • An array of colors and patterns, including pure white ideal for dying, support creativity in fly tying.
  • Feathers over 6 inches long enable tying very large flies up to size 5/0.
  • This saddle is a great alternative for tiers seeking to replace heron feathers with an extraordinary value option.

Suitable fishing methods: Fluefiskeri (Fly fishing)

Ideal for targeting: Laks (Salmon)

  • No rush or rush

Despite being busy with many orders, due to wild prices, I received my 3rd order for May/June today without any errors or defects. Since some of the items I had ordered were sold out, I was contacted by Rene, who I assume is partly a warehouse worker for Fluer, and together we found a good alternative.

  • Great store

At Fluer.dk you are always greeted with a friendly tone, and always with help based on where you stand financially and in terms of experience... That is, you will receive incredibly friendly guidance, regardless of whether you are super experienced and only use the most expensive gear, or whether you are new to the "profession" and are finding your style... Fluer.dk must have the best recommendations from here, and thanks for the always best guidance and service.
