Description

The PENN Mag4 Star Drag reels are a prestigious family of high-performance conventional reels designed primarily for saltwater fishing. The series includes two models, the PENN 515 MAG4 and the 525 MAG4, both engineered to facilitate long-range casting, particularly from shores in the UK and Europe.

Key features of the PENN Mag4 Star Drag include:

  • Adjustable magnetic brake system with an extended knob for precise control
  • Lightweight graphite frame and sideplates for durable yet manageable handling
  • Forged and machined aluminum spool ensuring smooth casting performance
  • Instant anti-reverse and a live spindle with free-floating spool to minimize friction and maximize casting distance
  • Premium oiled spool bearings and 6+1 shielded stainless steel ball bearings for enhanced reliability
  • Robust CNC gear technology with stainless steel main and pinion gears
  • Versa drag system using HT-100 drag washers delivering smooth drag pressure up to 20 lbs (9 kg)

These reels have a strong following among anglers who fish on beaches and rocky shores, making them top sellers in these environments. The 515 model excels at targeting tough ground bass and general beach fishing, while the 525 model offers greater line capacity, ideal for long-range beach and mixed ground fishing scenarios.

  • No rush or rush

Despite being busy with many orders, due to wild prices, I received my 3rd order for May/June today without any errors or defects. Since some of the items I had ordered were sold out, I was contacted by Rene, who I assume is partly a warehouse worker for Fluer, and together we found a good alternative.
