SIMMS Flyweight Boot Steel Gray - Rubber sole

If you need to walk a lot when fishing, then lightweight wading boots are a must. The heavier models that are more specifically focused on wading will be hard on your feet to wear on long hikes. You can avoid that with these lightweight boots. Here in Denmark, it is by the river that these boots are particularly valuable, and especially in the warm summer months, when we do not have to wade in the river but rather climb a number of obstacles and take long walks along the water in search of the ringing fish or the night trout.
The boot's low-profile design gives you full wading functionality when needed and the Vibram® idrogrip outsole gives you good grip on wet, moss-covered rocks, damp stream banks and is reinforced so that studs can be applied for extra grip.

Maintenance
If you use the boots in salt water, always clean and rinse them after a fishing trip to prevent rust and tarnishing.


Use a brush to remove dust and dirt - this can be an old vegetable brush or an old toothbrush. For maximum thoroughness, remove laces before cleaning. Use a specialized boot cleaner, saddle soap or a mild dish soap with lukewarm water. Do not use bar soap or detergent.


Do not place wet boots near heat sources (fireplace, campfire, wood-burning stove, radiator, fan heater or sunny windows), as this can weaken glue and cause materials to become brittle or shrink.
Dry them naturally (air dry) and try to keep them out of the sun for extended periods. Boots dry faster when placed upside down. If you wish, place some paper towels inside each boot to absorb the moisture. Change the paper towels every hour.


If you see mold on your boots, brush them with a solution of 80% water and 20% vinegar.


Store footwear in a place where the temperature is stable and normal. Do not store boots in attics, garages, trunks or places where they cannot breathe.
Never put footwear in the washing machine.
